Airport in Ljubljana is in fact not in Ljubljana but Brnik. Probably you won’t notice that because it’s very near from Ljubljana
From the city center of Ljubljana to the airport, it’s about 26 km. It’s not far away, and you should also remember that there’s no traffic. Ok, some people consider traffic when 15 cars are in line, but if you ever saw real traffic, Ljubljana is a city free of them. So thanks to the lack of traffic, travel from city to the airport are relatively short.
More information regarding travel to airport you will find on the official airport website.
Jožet Pučnik airport is the biggest Slovenian airport, and honestly, I just can’t imagine how the smaller are. If you read an article about the airport in Belgrade, you can remember that I was writing about some facilities that let you not be in a hurry. In the case of the airport in Ljubljana, you shouldn’t be a worry at all, as the traffic at the airport is tiny. Forget about queue to check-in, forget about the line to safety control. I have been fourt times at that airport and every time I needed about 5 minutes for all procedure.
Airport, as I mentioned, is small, there’re not many attractions, but there’s everything you need. For example, you can find many AC power sockets, which is very helpful especially for longer trips. You may say it’s not so big deal, but I didn’t find it at much more major airports.
You can also eat something at the airport, drink coffee (approx. 2.5 EUR plus water for free) or other beverages. There are also tax-free shops where you can buy Rakija the other souvenirs from Slovenia.
My general impression was that this airport is the same like Ljubljana – just very friendly.
