The stay at Ibis it’s a stay without risk. Someone may say that it is boring, but I really appreciate the fact that choosing Ibis know what to expect.
I stayed at bis hotels several times and i can write the same thing about every stay – predictability. And I hasten to add, in this case it is an advantage, not a disadvantage. When you book a room at the Ibis you know what to expect from the moment you cross the front door. You know how the room will look like, the same with the bathroom. You know what standards to expect, you know that the service will be pleasant and less or more you know what you can expect from breakfast.
The room is not big, but big enough that you do not feel suffocating. The room has a standard equipment – wardrobe, table, chair, TV, phone, mirror. WiFi, of course, also is free, but this is such a standard as a wardrobe and bed.
Well, the bed. Bed in Ibis deserves a separate mention because the beds at Ibis hotels are equipped with brilliant mattresses. Incidentally, you can buy such a bed with a perfect mattress http://ibisstore.com/en/ibis-bed.html#details at the online store Ibis, but the price is not cheap – 1,250 Euro per size 140×200 cm. On the other hand, it’s worth paying for such a quality.
The bathroom is clean – and this is most important in the hotel bathroom. Shower has its cabin, which is not obvious, and what can irritate me mercilessly. It often happens that the hotel bathroom designers are doing everything what they can to make usage of shower as traumatic experience which ends with flood on the floor. In Ibis solution it is the simplest and most effective.
Breakfast in Ibis it’s a traditional Swedish table and interestingly, in every country there are elements of local cuisine, nothing too fancy, but nice impressive. In Spain – chorizo, France – croissants, etc. Even if you do not eat meat it will not be a problem, because the choice is considerable, even if they are certain products.
The service at Ibis follow the corporate rules – everybody have to smile, be helpful and say “good morning” to all hotel guests (of course in the local language that is undoubtedly the educational value). And the service is smiling, is helpful and says “good morning”. I appreciate it, because anyone can have a bad day and does not want for anything.
Prices in Ibis are diverse and mainly depends on the location of the property. The closer to the city center, the price is higher. (Some time ago there appeared new labels of the Ibis – All Seasons and Ibis Budget. I didn’t use any of them so I will not say a word). Although I usually choose those more distant from the city center, this I have to admit that every time the hotel is very close to the station / bus stop from where in minutes you can reach everywhere. So it was two times in Paris (5 minutes walk to the queue, and then 15 miut train to the city center), Barcelona (10 minutes walking and 10 minutes by metro to the city center), in Berlin I was just closest to the center, just in Kiev. It was no different in Rome beside that names of the stops were exactly the same along the street or there was no name. Well, but Rome is a particular city.
